How to encourage and ensure active civic engagement in the context of pandemia?

As a part of the conference “Social Enterprise Day 2021: Our Post-Pandemic Future” the discussion will gather four inspiring speakers that posses varying experience in encouraging civic engagement.

Moderator: Sandra Adomavičiūtė. Since 2017 Sandra holds the Open Lithuania foundation director position. Prior to this position Sandra had diverse experience in project managing, advocacy and communication, was involved in and implementing international projects (Euro adoption in Lithuania, Global Libraries in Lithuania (B&M Gates Foundation), Vilnius – European Capital of Culture, etc.). She worked in private, public and NGO sectors, and was an Advocacy consultant for African Advocacy Awareness Groups in Ghana, Kenya and Uganda (EIFL). Main fields of interest: political participation, nationalism and use of symbols, building dialogue. 

 

Speaker 1: Fredrik Åhsberg. Diplomat at the Swedish Embassy in Vilnius covering human rights, culture, economic affairs and trade. Previously worked at the Swedish Embassies in Rwanda and Nigeria, covering topics ranging from human rights and humanitarian affairs to migration, security policy and democratic development. Has an academic background in international human rights law, with a specific focus on the gendered aspects of international law.

 

Speaker 2: Liene Reine- Miteva. Founder of social enterprise LLC “Ligero”  – leading vulnerable youth empowerment by entrepreneurs  and a Social project manager at social enterprise “Sonido” where she is in charge of social project development and expansion of the “Let’s talk!” concept. Liene has been working on creating the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Latvia since 2018 when she was hired to develop many aspects of the growing “Social entrepreneurship association of Latvia” both long and short-term strategy and routine. During her tenure she helped to build and scale impact enterprises, build a community and ecosystem of social entrepreneurs and a knowledge hub with a range of programmes for social business growth and development.

 

Speaker 3: Daniel Vaarik is the founder of Levila, a new media laboratory in Estonia that aims to heal society with stories.  Daniel has previously consulted governments, startups and sometimes even theatres on having more impact. He has also written two books about journalism and communication and is currently writing the third about the last president of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid.
